About seed program
The Sustainable Energy and Economic Development (SEED) programme is a £37.5 million initiative funded by the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) to promote economic development and sustainable energy in Pakistan, specifically focusing on the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). Within SEED, Adam Smith International (ASI) is delivering the first component, Improved Economic and Urban Planning in KP, with a £15 million budget. The programme supports initiatives such as enhancing public investment management, strengthening the PPP framework, and mobilizing public and private investments that generate economic, social, and environmental returns. SEED is significantly contributing to KP’s development through priority transactions, wide-ranging reforms and addressing critical infrastructure gaps in roads, tourism, and energy.

Where we work
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is located in the northwestern region of Pakistan. It is known as the tourist hotspot for adventurers and explorers and has a varied landscape ranging from rugged mountains ranges, valleys, plains surrounded by hills, undulating submontane areas and dense agricultural farms.
