Empowering Women Entrepreneurs in KP

Women in Pakistan make up only 22% of the labour force, with similarly low representation in business ownership due to systemic and social barriers such as limited access to finance, business opportunities, and digital platforms. Despite these challenges, many women in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) run or aspire to run small-scale businesses from home. SEED has supported these home-based women entrepreneurs by enhancing their business and digital skills, enabling them to initiate, improve, and expand their enterprises.

Partnering with atomcamp, SEED provided training to over 400 women across six major cities in KP—Peshawar, Nowshera, Kohat, Mardan, Abbottabad, and Swat—integrating financial literacy modules in collaboration with the Bank of Khyber (BoK). Follow-up surveys showed tangible progress, with increased digital engagement and revenue generation among participants. SEED also facilitated market access by supporting KP women entrepreneurs to participate in atomcamp’s Women Entrepreneurship Camp (wecamp) festivals, where 69% reported an expanded customer base and increased sales, strengthening their market linkages and business growth.
